Reclamation of soil from the Toulouse metro with a temporary consortium of companies

BOUYER LEROUX, EDILIANS and TERREAL, leaders in the terracotta industry in France, have responded to a call for expressions of interest launched by TISSEO-INGENIERIE for the recovery of excavated material from the third line of the Toulouse metro and its connection to Line B.
With sites in the immediate vicinity of the construction site, the three companies have joined forces in a temporary joint venture (GME) in order to experiment with the recovery of excavated materials by integrating them into the manufacturing process of terracotta materials.

TISSEO-INGENIERIE, delegated project manager representing the Syndicat Mixte des Transports en Commun de l'agglomération toulousaine, launched this collaborative procedure with a view to issuing invitations to tender for the recovery of 2.8 million m3 of soil excavated from underground structures in compliance with environmental regulations.

Faced with the environmental challenges of this major project, the companies BOUYER LEROUX, EDILIANS and TERREAL have pooled their capacities to offer :

- the recovery of the material by its introduction into terracotta building materials for the shell and roofing, in accordance with the Law on the fight against waste and the circular economy (Law n° 2020-105 of 10 February 2020);

- recovery as quarry backfill.

The maximum distance of 10km from these sites (tile factory and brickworks) to Colomiers station will also ensure a limited carbon footprint in terms of transport.
